Celebrating the life of
Gerald Carl Von Bargen
January 31, 1938 - March 12, 2024
Our beloved husband and father, Gerald Von Bargen, passed away peacefully in his home on March 12, 2024 at the age of 89. He is survived by his wife, Lois Von Bargen, children, sons and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Jennifer Von Bargen, Jim and Melissa Huggins, Jeff and Megan Hill, and Tad and Erica Wilson. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was born in Seattle, Washington on January 31, 1935. He spent his childhood years through high school with his family in Wyoming, Ohio where he and his wife first met. They were married for 66 years.
He had a distinguished 30 year career as an Air Force officer and a Vietnam Veteran, retiring as a Colonel in 1986. He and his family traveled the world, and he was extremely proud to have served his country.
He will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Thank you for your service. The fierce beauty and proud independence of this great bird aptly symbolizes the strength and freedom of America.
